ITN Productions Wins Dual Tv And Online Commission From Liv And Living
ITN Productions - ITN's newly-launched multiplatform video creation business - has been commissioned by Virgin Media Television to produce online and on-air celebrity news for its short-form online channel Liv and for leading pay-TV channel LIVING.
Under the "Celebs 24/7" brand, content from ITN Productions will be available on a rolling basis online at Liv, which launched in November 2009 as the UK's first online TV channel. The Liv player can be found on the main LIVING website, but is also syndicated widely to websites including Now, as well as social destinations such as YouTube and Facebook.
In parallel with the Liv "rolling news" service, ITN Productions has also been commissioned to deliver programming for LIVING - also under the Celebs 24/7 brand - including a 20-minute programme on Saturday mornings from 6 March.
The programme is a tongue-in-cheek round up of the latest glitter, glamour and gossip from the world of celebrity. The show will feature fun new ideas such as The Lady Gaga Random Outfit Generator, Celebrity Tweet of The Week and The Celebrity Treadmill. All this on top of big name interviews will ensure viewers will be glued their seats.
Mark Sammon, Head of Commissioning at Virgin Media Television said: "This innovative deal with ITN Productions adds their unrivalled experience of news production to our groundbreaking online and linear channels. The weird world of celebrity remains the single biggest draw for Liv's audience, and I'm delighted that we can now bring that content into the LIVING schedule too."
Mark Browning, Commercial Director of ITN Productions, said: "ITN Productions was formed to bring together our hugely talented broadcast and digital teams. As our first commission under the ITN Productions umbrella this is a fantastic example of the kind of bespoke content we can create for broadcasters. Not only will Living engage with their audience on TV but they will also connect and build brand loyalty with them every day through the delivery of tailored online content."
The deal builds on ITN Productions relationship with Virgin Media Television, which currently features a raft of news and entertainment content on the Virgin Media and LIVING websites.
