ITN Productions And Mercurymedia Sign Production Development Alliance
ITN Productions has signed a deal with MercuryMedia to develop four new topical magazine formats for the international market.
ITN Productions will utilise its expertise in producing highly topical news, entertainment, and popular factual programmes, with MercuryMedia distributing the content to broadcasters and media owners worldwide.
The programmes will be launched at Mip TV and produced weekly. The four titles are:
- N2K, embracing everything you 'need to know' on pop culture, influenced by online content and social media trends.
- Innovation, a programme that explores the latest in science, gadgets and cutting edge technology.
- The A-List, which covers the week's biggest international showbiz stories.
- A global version of the existing entertainment brand The Movie Show already in production for ITV2.
Steve Carsey, Chief Creative Officer at ITN Productions, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Mercury Media on this very important aspect of our international strategy. Our shared ambition is to launch a range of topical, populist and contemporary programmes that further grow ITN's international business and leverages our brand values, expertise and resources for broadcasters around the world.'
MercuryMedia's Chief Executive Tim Sparke commented: 'This opportunity marks a welcome return to Mercury's roots developing and distributing magazine shows for the global market. ITN's production credentials in the UK market are beyond comparison. With our knowledge and reputation we will launch these new shows to international channels eager to show cutting edge weekly programming.'
