ITV News Announces New Economics Editor
ITV News has appointed Richard Edgar as its Economics Editor to complete the line up of its new-look business unit.
Richard joins from the Financial Times where he has led multi-platform innovation as global editor of the newspaper's award-winning video service. He will lead all economics coverage for ITV News, reporting and analysing the challenges and recovery of the UK economy and developments in international markets and territories. Alongside the newly-appointed ITV News Business Editor Laura Kuenssberg, Richard will regularly contribute news and analysis to ITV.com/news, Facebook and Twitter.
Joining ITV News in October, Richard has vast experience in covering national and international economic issues for broadcast and online outlets having previously been Editor in Charge, EMEA, for Reuters Television, Presenter at BBC World Service and Business Editor of the Today programme, among other roles. Under his tenure, FT.com has won awards from the Association of Online Publishers and Amnesty International.
Richard replaces Daisy McAndrew, who has led ITV News coverage of the recession and debt crisis and now moves to become a special correspondent for ITV News at Ten.
